This Cherry Cheesecake Dip is the perfect light summer dessert. Made with Greek yogurt and topped with juicy cherries, serve it with fresh fruit and graham crackers for a classic cheesecake bite!
Here in Montreal, cherry season is much too short for my liking. From the moment they appear in grocery stores, you can bet I’ll be popping them in my mouth every chance I get until they inevitably disappear until next summer. So obviously I had to create a recipe where fresh succulent cherries are the star – and what better way to feature them than in a healthy no-bake cheesecake dip!
Why You’ll Love This Cherry Cheesecake Yogurt Dip
- It’s super easy to make. Whipping up this dip takes no time at all. Even pitting cherries becomes easy with this awesome hack!
- It’s not too sweet. The dip itself is only lightly sweetened with honey as not to overpower the juicy, ripe cherries! Served with graham crackers and fruit, this is a great light summer dessert.
- It’s requires no cooking. During hot summer months, no one wants to turn on the stove any more than necessary. This greek yogurt cream cheese dip requires no cooking and minimal prep work!
Cherry Cheesecake Dip Ingredients
For the full recipe with ingredient amounts and instructions, see the recipe card below.
- Light cream cheese. Remove from the fridge ahead of time or soften slightly in the microwave.
- Plain Greek yogurt. I prefer the thickness of Greek yogurt for this dip recipe but regular yogurt can work too. If you want to use a flavored yogurt that is already sweetened, you may want to reduce the amount of honey.
- Honey. Maple syrup or sugar can also be used in place of honey.
- Vanilla extract.
- Fresh cherries. Choose ones that are free of blemishes and firm enough to be pitted with squishing.
How To Make This Recipe
I love no-bake desserts like this when I’m craving something sweet and want it, like, now! This cheesecake yogurt dip whips up in no time and is super easy to make.
- Whip up the softened cream cheese until it is light and fluffy.
- Add in the yogurt, honey and vanilla and whip again until it’s fully combined.
- Chill the cheesecake dip in the fridge until it has slightly firmed up. About 30 minutes should be long enough.
- While the dip is doing it’s thing in the fridge, it’s time to tackle the cherries. Check out the best hack for pitting cherries (without a cherry pitter) below! Once pitted, slice cherries in half or chop into bite-size pieces.
- Top the chilled cheesecake dip with the cherries and enjoy!
The Easiest Way to Pit Cherries (Without A Cherry Pitter)!
If you’re like me and don’t own a cherry pitter, prepping tons of cherries for a recipe can be a messy and time-consuming task. But ever since discovering this awesome trick, I’ve been pitting cherries like a pro (and with one less kitchen tool crowding my drawers).
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Chopstick or sturdy straw (like glass or metal)
- Empty soda or wine bottle
- Cherries
How to pit the cherries:
- Remove the stem from the cherry.
- Place the cherry stem-side up on top of the bottle opening.
- Holding the cherry steady, use the chopstick or straw to punch through the top of the cherry, pushing the pit into the bottle below.
And voila! Pitted cherries in a pinch, perfect for all your fresh cherry recipes. For more ways to pit cherries without a pitter, check out this link!
