As a Registered Dietitian, I’ve got nothing against using salad dressings and dips (especially if they help you eat more vegetables). However, I do love any opportunity to add nutrition to my meals and snacks.

In this Healthy Dill Pickle Ranch Dressing, we are adding nutrition to our recipe with the use of Greek yogurt. With the extra boost of protein that it gives creamy dressings like this, this dip really helps balance out a plain plate of veggies and makes them feel a little more substantial.

And I’ve got to admit… it makes them a bit more delicious too.

This dressing is creamy, tangy and full of dill pickle flavor! We will use a homemade ranch seasoning blend (no ranch packet needed) and pickle juice straight from the jar. Yum!

Healthy Dill Pickle Ranch: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I have to use Greek yogurt for this dressing?

Other types of yogurt besides Greek will work but the final product may vary in consistency and nutrition. Regular yogurt will produce a thinner and less protein rich dressing than Greek yogurt. You could also try Skyr (an Icelandic fermented dairy product) which is even slightly thicker and more protein rich than Greek yogurt.

How do I store the dill pickle ranch dressing?

Keep your dressing in a jar or airtight container in the fridge. It should stay fresh for up to one week.

Can this recipe be made vegan?

Yes, use a dairy free yogurt and swap the honey for a vegan-friendly sweetener like maple syrup or agave.
